Arimasu,imasu-to exist, to be


1Place ni Noun ga arimasu/imasu.
There is a girl. Onna no ko ga imasu.
There aresome dogs. Inu ga imasu.
There is a book on the TV. Terebi no ue ni hon ga arimasu.
There are some chairs and some desks in the classroom. Ky?shitsu ni isuto tsukue ga arimasu

2Noun wa Place ni arimasu/ imasu.
Mr. Tanaka is in the offce. Tanaka-san wa kaisha ni imasu.
One of my friends is in London. Tomodachiga hitori rondon ni imasu.
The Restaurant is near the station. Resutoran wa eki no chikaku ni arimasu.
The bed is next to the window. Beddo ga mado no tonari ni arimasu.

● “arimasu” and “imasu”
Both vers means “ to exist/ bing” like “I am in Tokyo.” Watashi wa Tokyo ni imasu or “There are some books on the table.” Teeburu no ue ni hon ga arimasu. imasu is used for animate things like people and animals and so on. However arimasu is used for inanimate thigs like books, cars, and shops, etc.
